SOUTH-WEST BRISBANE WELCOMES NEW ENDOMETRIOSIS AND PELVIC PAIN CLINIC

The Albanese Government is delivering a new Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic for women and girls in South-West Brisbane.

Opening by the start of 2026, the clinic will be located within the Blunder Road Medical and Dental Centre in South-West Brisbane.

It will provide expert, multidisciplinary services for endometriosis and pelvic pain, and as part of the government’s commitment, all clinics will now additionally support women living with symptoms of perimenopause and menopause.

This is one of 11 additional Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic’s being delivered by the Albanese Government across the country.

In total, there will be 33 clinics across Australia, including eight in Queensland in both regional and metropolitan locations, improving access to specialist care.

Endometriosis affects at least 1 in 7 Australian women. It can have an extensive, devastating impact on the daily lives of sufferers, who face an average 7 year delay in diagnosis.

Pelvic pain can be similarly complex and debilitating, with the impact being felt beyond individuals. It is estimated to cost the Australian economy $6 billion a year.

It will also improve healthcare and education of perimenopause and menopause for women living with symptoms.

These clinics are a key part of the Government’s landmark Women’s Health Package, investing almost $800 million in funding to deliver improved health care and access for women and girls.

The clinic is commissioned and operated by the Brisbane South Primary Health Network.
