WOODCREST WAY FAMILY PRACTICE GOES 100% BULK BILLING
Today the Hon Milton Dick, Federal Member for Oxley was pleased to join representatives from ForHealth Queensland to mark Woodcrest Way Family Practice’s transition to 100 per cent bulk billing.
Locals will be able to access GP consults at the practice, completely bulk billed with their Medicare cards – whether it is a regular consultation, long consultation or telehealth appointment.
This means, more people can access high-quality care, at no cost – all they’ll need is their Medicare card.
Woodcrest Way’s transition to 100 per cent bulk billing is in line with the Federal Government’s Strengthening Medicare reforms and the Bulk Billing Incentives commencing on 1 November 2025.
The Strengthening Medicare reforms are ensuring healthcare is accessible for everyone, regardless of their financial situation or where they live.
Since converting, patients have welcomed the change and it is estimated the community will save more than $225,000 a year in out-of-pocket costs.
Woodcrest Way Family Practice has been serving the Springfield area since 2023 and welcomes new patients to benefit from the transition to 100 per cent bulk billing.
Quotes attributable to Speaker of the House and Member for Oxley, Milton Dick:
“Access to good medical health is a top priority and our residents should not have to compromise with their health because of their financial situation.”
“I know this announcement of free, high-quality care will be warmly received by existing patients, but new patients alike.”
“The transition to bulk billing builds on other initiatives such as the Urgent Care Clinic Network, 60-day medicine dispensing and $25 scripts for PBS medications. These initiatives are thanks to our Strengthening Medicare reforms, making sure Aussies have access to high-quality care, but also assist with cost of living pressures.”
Quotes attributable to Dr. Neelima Ramireddy, General Practitioner, Woodcrest Way Family Practice
“I’m delighted to support the introduction of bulk billing at Woodcrest. This initiative makes a real difference for our patients and our community.
Bulk billing means patients are happier and more comfortable returning for follow-up care, which allows us to provide better, more consistent treatment. It also removes financial barriers, so I can focus on what my patients need without them feeling pressured to ration care.
It gives me the ability to stretch consultation time when necessary, without the same constraints, and helps strengthen the doctor-patient relationship.
This change ensures that everyone in our community can access the care they need, when they need it, without financial strain standing in the way.”
